- MONTEREY, Calif., May 19, 1992 -- Novell, Desktop Systems Group has
- introduced an update to its DR DOS 6.0 operating system that makes it
- fully compatible with Microsoft Windows 3.1.

- "Our customers want full Windows compatibility and our product delivers
- it," said John Edwards, executive vice president, Novell, Desktop Systems
- Group. "Novell is fully committed to making DR DOS a rock-solid
- foundation--not only for Windows 3.1, but for every DOS application."

- The update is being sent free of charge to all registered DR DOS users.
- It is also available for downloading from CompuServe and America Online
- via the DR forum and through the Desktop Systems Group's own bulletin
- board: (408) 649-3443. Users who are not registered can obtain the
- update by returning their registration card, or they may call (800)
- 274-4374 and register by phone.

- "I've been running the new version of DR DOS under Windows 3.1 with
- Microsoft Word for Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project--all
- without a hitch," said Al Hudson, a senior engineer with NCR in San Diego.
- Hudson has been using DR DOS since 1988.

- Z-Nix, Inc., (Pomona, Calif.) has bundled DR DOS 6.0 and Microsoft Windows
- 3.1 with its Super Mouse II and Cordless Super Mouse products. "We've
- been testing the two products from top to bottom for a month now, and have
- uncovered no incompatibilities," said C.J. D'Angelo, vice president of
- sales. "We are confident our OEMs and end users will be equally
- successful."

- to run applications, increased disk capacity through built-in compression
- technology, and a high-performance disk cache. DR DOS 6.0 is fully
- compatible with Microsoft Windows 3.0 and 3.1.
